This course is a carefully structured program of current content and engaging activities designed to help every child to think, to take responsibility, and to make the right decisions for good health and physical fitness.  
Grade 06 
6th Grade Phys Ed-2009 
Students will be actively engaged in a variety of team and individual sports/activities that promote physical wellness and a healthy lifestyle. Students will be able to explain the benefits of fitness through physical, social, mental, and emotional aspects of life. During the course of the year the students will be taught the correct terminology, rules, the importance of teamwork, and the benefits specific to achievement in an academic setting. 
Adapted PE 6-9 -2009 
This semester class is offered as a diversified program of developmental activities, games, sports suited to the interest, capacities, and limitations of students with disabilities who may not safely or successfully engage in unrestricted participation in vigorous activities of general physical education programs. Grade emphasis will be placed on participation, skill development, and knowledge of the rules and sportsmanship. Evaluation procedures used to measure student progress will be written and skill tests, and teacher observation. Suitable physical education clothing for indoor and outdoor activities will be required. 
Grade 07 
7th Grade Phys Ed-2009 
Students will engage in a wide variety of individual/team activities, movement and sports games. Students are then able to increase their level of confidence and enjoyment in physical activity, as well as increase their understanding and appreciation of sport. This will then promote a feeling of well-being that can be carried throughout their lifetime.

Grade 09 
9th Grade Phys Ed-2009

Lifetime Recreation Sports I-2009 
This semester course is offered to expose and acquaint students with recreational activities that will serve and interest them beyond graduation. Activities offered are volleyball, horseshoes, archery, fitness/jogging and pickleball and badminton. Grade emphasis will be placed on attendance, participation, fitness, skill development, knowledge of rules and sportsmanship. Evaluation procedures used to measure student progress will be written and skill tests, two days a week fitness conditioning workouts, daily participation, safety & injury prevention and teacher observation. Physical education clothing for indoor and outdoor activities will be required. Students are required to dress out daily. 
Lifetime Recreation Sports II-2009 
This semester course is offered to expose and acquaint students with recreational activities that will serve and interest them beyond graduation. Activities offered are table tennis, pickleball, volleyball, floor hockey, softball, fitness/jogging and badminton. Grade emphasis will be placed on attendance, participation, fitness, skill development, knowledge of rules and sportsmanship. Evaluation procedures used to measure student progress will be written and skill tests, one day a week fitness conditioning workouts, daily participation, safety & injury prevention and teacher observation. Physical education clothing for indoor and outdoor activities will be required. Students are required to dress out daily. 
Team Sports I-2009 
This course will offer a semester of competitive activity involving team sports popular on the American scene today. Activities to be offered are touch football or fleetball, volleyball, fitness and jogging, lacrosse, pickleball, team handball and floor hockey. Emphasis will be placed on attendance, participation, fitness, skill development and knowledge of rules and sportsmanship. Evaluation procedures used to measure student progress will be written and skill tests, two days a week fitness conditioning workouts, daily participation, safety & injury prevention and teacher observation. Physical education clothing for indoor and outdoor activities will be required. Students are expected to dress out daily. 
Team Sports II-2009 
This course will offer a semester of competitive activity involving team sports popular on the American scene today. Activities to be offered are softball, soccer, pickleball fitness, jogging, basketball, volleyball, and lacrosse. Emphasis will be placed on attendance, participation, fitness, skill development and knowledge of rules and sportsmanship. Evaluation procedures used to measure student progress will be written and skill tests, two days a week fitness conditioning workouts, daily participation, safety & injury prevention and teacher observation. Physical education clothing for indoor and outdoor activities will be required. Students are expected to dress out daily. 
Weight/Strength Training and Conditioning-2009 
This course is offered to students who are primarily interested in improving and understanding their health and skill-related physical fitness. Through weight training, the course will provide increased muscular strength, power and endurance. Class activities will consist of circuit weight training, Olympic lifting and fitness testing. Student evaluation will be based on class participation, 1-2 days a week fitness/conditioning, physical fitness improvement, knowledge of fitness subject matter, safety & injury prevention and class attendance. Suitable physical education clothing is required. Sweats are needed for outdoor activities. 
Grade 11
